Rumi Sands doesn't stay in one lane, and that's the point. Folk, R&B, reggae — the genre changes, but the message underneath doesn't. Named for the poet Rumi, the project is built around that same idea: truth can wear a lot of different clothes and still be true.
Songs like Borrowed Light and Two Sides of the Moon sit in quiet, intimate territory. Gunnar & Jeremy and When the Trade Winds Changed pull from island rhythm and warmer, looser storytelling. What connects them isn't a sound — it's the same voice, telling the truth from a different angle each time.
